Hello all savage drivers
I am a new owner of a savage 99 and I have followd
this site since 5-6 weeks.
I did not get an answer about the holes to drill
in the muffler, so at the end I bought me a silver-tail
and I promise all you out there it was exellent sound
deep and loud.
First i tried without the extra little silent thing
that came in a plastic bag, but that was to loud,
then wen I put that thing inside the muffler the
sound got perfect. You can even drill some more small
holes inside the silenser, but I think it is perfect
I compared it with the Jardin and this sounds better.
One more thing, dont put on the heating sheild
that is on the original muffler, because then the muffler becoume yellow. Idid that at the first time
just for a short ride. then I toke it of and polisiht
again so it become shining again.
No I have driven abaut 200 km and it is still no color on it.
I live in Sweden and we dont have that strict noise
levels thet in Germany. We have to go and test the sound and other things ones in a year. Then you got
an extra muffler inclouded to put on with a possible sound for the inspection.
It was not cheep, I payed 275 us dollars for it,
But as I said the sond is perfect.
